Leadership & Management Training with Calendar Club
Otter House Group, best known for its Calendar Club retail and online operations, is based in a 12,000m2 storage facility, office complex and distribution centre known as the Exe Box in Exeter.
Calendar Club opens roughly 300 temporary stores each year, both on the high street and in shopping centres and is the UK’s longest standing and most successful seasonal or ‘pop-up’ retailer. Also with the Group are Carousel calendars one of the UK’s largest calendar publishing businesses and Otter House, a greetings card, stationery and gift business with strong distribution into the garden centres.
David Pike, Group Managing Director at Otter House, contacted Crisp Professional Development to discuss a comprehensive package of leadership and management training for senior managers within each of the businesses in the Group.
Following a full needs analysis among the three group companies, we recommended a two-year programme of learning that was accredited by the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) at Level 5. The programme consisted of twenty days of workshops covering a broad range of topics including communication, finance, management techniques and leadership behaviours.
"Crisp Professional Development designed a strong package for us that was both tailored to our training needs and that met our requirements in terms of timing and delivery.
The feedback from our senior managers has been universally positive both in terms of the quality of the content but also the delivery by the trainers.
The training itself has had an impact on the day-to-day performance of our senior managers, it has better prepared them for their leadership roles and it has had a positive effect on their morale.
On the basis of our experience I have no hesitation in recommending Crisp and we are continuing with them on a follow-up process so that we do not let the progress that we have made slip away from us".
