Partnering with a regional charity to upskill their Management Team

Shared Lives South West is an independent regional charity which has been operating since 2004. Working with four local authorities in Cornwall, Plymouth, Devon and Torbay, they provide a range of services for people with care and support needs.

Shared Lives have two offices, one near Newton Abbot in Devon and the other near Redruth in Cornwall and they employ 35 head office staff and over 250 carers in the community. This team supports the 300+ people who use their services.

After a competitive tendering process, Crisp were recently appointed to deliver a management training programme for the senior management team. The process involved individual training needs analyses, psychometric profiling, six training workshops, team coaching and 1-2-1 executive coaching.

The programme was intended to upskill the management team, some of whom had moved into new roles, to support their behavioural change through the coaching and as a result, to create a high performing management team best placed to lead Shared Lives into the future.

The programme took place over the course of twelve months.

Dominic Spayne, CEO and one of the participants, comments:

‘Involving Crisp in the training and development of our management team has had a profoundly positive impact on the team, the individuals involved, and the wider organisation. I see this as being the beginning of a long and successful relationship with Shaun and the team at Crisp.’

Shaun Durham, Managing Director of Crisp, adds:

‘We especially like working with organisations that make a difference to people’s lives. From the start, Shared Lives South west were invested in the process, open to new ways of thinking and ready to implement the changes.

Combining emotional intelligence and behavioural change with tactical management and leadership development, has enabled each person to flourish while coming together as a supportive and high performing team. We look forward to continuing to work with them throughout 2019.’
