Individual and organisational needs for coaching are many and varied. We have summarised a few of the most common topics below.
We coach within an organisational context, in that we have a three-way relationship between the organisational sponsor, the client (or coachee) and the external coach. This is the case even when we work with the owner of a business.
At the start of the process there will be a three-way contract that sets out the boundaries in which the coaching relationship operates. The mutual expectations under which both coach and coachee will operate will be set, and programme goals will be agreed. Importantly, but perhaps more intangibly, it will set the ‘tone’ for future meetings and the professional basis on which future meetings will be held.
The location for the sessions is chosen in consultation with the client. It can be in the workplace, or office, but our preferred approach is to use a neutral venue. This aids creativity and frees-up thinking. For some clients this means using the outdoors.
