In memory of our much-loved colleague Helen Gilzean, the Helen Gilzean ILM Award honours outstanding achievement in ILM learning and development each year.
Helen dedicated over 25 years of her career to helping others grow through ILM Coaching, Leadership and Management programmes. Her passion for people and unwavering support for learners changed countless lives. This award is our way of keeping that legacy alive by celebrating those who embody her commitment to growth, resilience, and excellence.
Each year, the award will honour a learner who has completed an ILM Coaching or Leadership and Management qualification. Including one of our ILM Recognised programmes, with Crisp, and will be awarded to someone who truly demonstrates the spirit of dedication, determination, and progress that Helen championed.
Helen believed that true learning doesn’t just happen in the classroom. It continues every day, through small actions, brave decisions, and the courage to keep going when things get tough. This award not only recognises academic success but also the positive impact the winner has on their team, organisation, and community. It’s a reminder that Helen’s kindness and dedication live on in every learner’s journey.
How to Nominate for the ILM Award
The nominations will come from those who know the learner best. Whether that’s their ILM coach, course tutor, line manager, or client sponsor, ensuring that the award remains as intended: personal and heartfelt.
The winner of the Helen Gilzean ILM award will receive a voucher to spend on an experience of their choice, and secondly, a donation to a charity they care about. This is in addition to a matched donation to one of Helen’s favourite charities, the Ilminster Lions Club, which is a local organisation that was close to her heart, that supports families, communities and vital causes in our region.
Helen’s passion lives on through every learner, every story, and every step forward.
