Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service are the largest non-metropolitan fire and rescue service in England, covering almost 4,000 square miles and employing almost 2,000 staff.
We were looking for a partner training provider to work with us on a Supervisory leadership programme that would introduce theoretical knowledge in real time practical application, benefiting leaders and teams alike. We wanted a programme that would unlock potential, nurture our talent and grow our leadership capability.
We selected Crisp Professional Development and together we have created the ‘Inspiring Leadership Programme’ which is running regular cohorts for our Crew Managers and equivalent level corporate personnel . Using their leadership and management development expertise, the programme has been designed to align to a level 3 qualification standard as well as complementing the National Fire Chiefs Council (NFCC) Leadership Framework and the National Operational Standards for Crew Managers. Crisp have worked with us to offer flexible delivery options to suit our shift-pattern workers, which has included virtual delivery, evenings and weekends.
