North Devon Hospice have been offering care and support to local people who are affected by a life-limiting illness since 1984. They started with a single Community Nurse, covering the entire North Devon area. They now care for around 3,000 people every year, offering specialist care to patients at home and at the hospice, while supporting the whole family throughout the toughest of times. It has been a privilege for Crisp Professional Development to work with the Hospice since 2018 when we first met Cate Oliver, Director of HR & OD, to discuss leadership and management training.
Since then we have run our 4 day Being A Leader programme for various cohorts from the Hospice as well as communication courses. We have also supported the SMT with team coaching, individual team members with 1-2-1 coaching, and one manager is currently undertaking a Level 5 qualification in coaching.
Cate Oliver commented:
“Shaun and the Crisp Team have really understood us as an organisation, our culture, our style and our aspirations for leadership development. The Team’s delivery style balances support, challenge and theory perfectly with being thought provoking and allows time for reflection, discussion and growth. All our staff who have completed the Crisp programme have enjoyed and benefited from the experience.”
Shaun from Crisp added.
“It is a pleasure and a privilege to support North Devon Hospice with their people development. By bringing people together from across the Hospice, creating safe spaces to share ideas and learn, we are able to play a small part in enabling the hospice to do their wonderful work.”
